Soocer at the Dome!

Well what a night in Atlanta. Club America pulls out another surprise over an Italian powerhouse AC Milan 2-1 in the World Football Challenge. I must say I, along with the other 50,000 plus fans, left the Dome totally Satisfied!
But it was the counter attack of Club America that helped them win their second game of the tournament. They seemed content to allow the flow of the game belong to AC Milan, but then used the quickness and perfect execution to finish the Italians. On the first goal I Gooch was beaten over the top on a ball that I believe he thought the keeper would punch out. I am sure that was due the lack of familiarity with each other.
Milan were able to come back and tie the game after tensions ran high as the two teams went after each other in a mini shoving match. I must say that I was totally upset to see the Mexican fans throw water bottle on the field. This shows low class. AC Milan were able to counter attack on an error free kick that saw the ball be pushed up the field within a blink of a n eye. Inzaghi put away a beautiful ball into the side of the net.
But in the 83rd min. Club America was able to steal the point when Marquez headed home into the lower corner. A perfect header. Nothing the keeper could do on that one put kick the post I guess.
Ronaldinho was the player of the match after displaying a clinic on his Mexican counterparts. I tell you that he was the show. Every time he stepped up the a free kick or a corner kick thousands of flashes would go off. I was such a treat to watch World class players putting on a wonderful show for the fans. Up to the final seconds of the game the action never slowed down.
I am happy to see Atlanta getting its chance to host a major soccer event. The GA Dome was loud and full of energy. What an exciting night.
